F.A.Q.
Everything you need to know before your first session.
HBOT involves breathing 100% medical-grade oxygen inside a pressurized chamber at 2 ATA (atmospheres absolute). This allows oxygen to dissolve directly into your blood plasma, reaching tissues and organs that are normally oxygen-restricted — accelerating healing, reducing inflammation, and boosting cellular energy.
Breathing oxygen from a mask delivers O2 only through your red blood cells, which have a limited carrying capacity. HBOT uses increased atmospheric pressure to dissolve oxygen directly into your blood plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, and lymph — reaching areas that red blood cells can't access efficiently. The pressure is the key differentiator.
A Solo session gives you the entire walk-in cabin to yourself. A Duo session allows two people to share the cabin together.
Yes, similarly to taking off in an airplane. We will guide you through simple clearing techniques (such as swallowing, yawning, or the Valsalva maneuver) to ensure your comfort. Bringing a closed bottle of water inside and swallowing is a great way to help your ears equalize. If you are prone to sinus congestion, taking a mild over-the-counter decongestant 30 minutes before your session can also help.
We recommend comfortable, loose-fitting cotton clothing. For safety and comfort, you will need to remove shoes, heavy jewelry, watches, or sharp metal accessories before entering the cabin. We provide clean scrubs if needed.
Yes. Our walk-in cabins are equipped with high-speed WiFi and internal USB charging ports, allowing you to work, browse, or stream during your session. You can also enjoy our built-in entertainment system.
You will enter our spacious, walk-in vertical cabin and sit comfortably. Concentrated oxygen is administered via a clean, personal nasal cannula or face mask (which are sanitized or disposed of after use). Once inside, the cabin will gradually pressurize over 5-10 minutes (you will feel a sensation in your ears similar to a flight take-off). During the session, you can relax, watch TV, use your phone, work, or sleep. At the end, the cabin depressurizes gently over another 5-10 minutes.
No, you will not get high. However, you will feel calm, deeply relaxed, and mentally clear-headed. Because your body receives concentrated oxygen under pressure, your heart does not have to work as hard, which typically causes your heart rate to drop. We provide pulse oximeters so you can monitor your oxygen saturation and pulse rate in real-time during your session.
Many clients report feeling more energized and mentally clear after just 1-2 sessions. However, for deeper therapeutic benefits (stem cell mobilization, telomere support, chronic inflammation reduction), we recommend a minimum protocol of 10-20 sessions. Our team will help you design a personalized plan based on your goals.
For general wellness: 1-2 times per week. For intensive recovery or specific goals: 3-5 times per week for the first 4-6 weeks, then transitioning to a maintenance schedule. Your technician will recommend the ideal frequency during your initial consultation.
Key benefits include:
- Increased energy levels and reduced fatigue
- Reduced inflammation and faster muscle recovery
- Improved focus, memory, and cognitive clarity
- Accelerated healing of tissues, wounds, and injuries
- Enhanced sleep quality and stress reduction
- Boosted immune function and stem cell mobilization
Absolutely. Our chambers are FDA-cleared and operate at safe, mild pressures (up to 2 ATA) with multiple built-in safety mechanisms including dual over-pressure protection, automatic depressurization, and continuous monitoring. A trained technician is always on-site during your session.
In most cases, yes. However, certain medications (such as Bleomycin and some chemotherapy drugs) are contraindicated with HBOT. We require all new clients to complete a health screening questionnaire and recommend consulting with your physician before your first session.
HBOT is generally well-tolerated across all age groups. Children may use the chamber with parental consent and supervision. Elderly clients often benefit greatly from improved circulation and cognitive clarity. Each case is evaluated individually during the initial consultation.
Yes. The primary absolute contraindication is an untreated pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Other contraindications or conditions requiring doctor's clearance include active ear or sinus infections (due to pressure change difficulty), pregnancy, recent ear or chest surgery, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or taking specific drugs (such as Bleomycin or certain chemotherapy medications). We require a health screening questionnaire for all new clients.
While hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a powerful supportive therapy that improves oxygenation, tissue repair, and overall organ function, it does not cure underlying chronic lung diseases (such as COPD or emphysema). It is a supportive wellness protocol, and you should always consult your pulmonologist before starting.
In some individuals with severe COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), the body's stimulus to breathe adapts to low oxygen levels rather than high carbon dioxide levels. Receiving high concentrations of oxygen can suppress their natural breathing reflex, causing carbon dioxide retention (hypercapnia). This may result in drowsiness, headaches, and in severe cases, respiratory depression. Anyone with COPD must receive medical clearance and strict supervision before using HBOT.
Insurance typically covers HBOT only for FDA-approved medical conditions (such as non-healing wounds or carbon monoxide poisoning). For wellness and biohacking applications, sessions are out-of-pocket. We offer flexible session packages to make consistent therapy accessible. Visit our Pricing page for details.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
